FAQ ABOUT CASTING AND PARICIPATION

Yes, Stage provides Student Scholarship for all of our performers. The majority of our actors will be required to enroll in the Theatre Arts or Music class in order to receive a Student Scholarship. Stage may hire some performers as Independent Contractors in which a stipend is provided.
Yes, Cabrillo Stage is a part of Cabrillo College's Theater Arts program. The majority of our performers are required to enroll with Cabrillo Stage as a student and register for the 3 unit Theater Arts 75 or Music 75 class. Please note that the rehearsals and performances are in themselves the class. The cost of the class is the responsibility of the performer. Stage provides the student with a scholarship to assist in covering the cost of the class.
Yes, Stage does sometimes consider and hire AEA actors under the Guest Artist Agreement, Tier II. Please know that Union Agreements are reserved for principle roles only. If any given season is unable to consider AEA Guest Artist we will announce that within the audition information.
No, Stage does not offer EMC points or participate with AEA EMC program
No, Stage does not currently offer housing for its performers.
No, Stage does not provide a travel stipend or the cost of travel.
No, Stage does not pre-cast roles. In the rare occasion a role has been pre-cast, Stage will publicly announce which role(s) is not available on all of our audition information.
No, Stage casts all shows based on the artistic needs of the show. For considered age ranges available for any given show, please visit the show specific information.
Yes, its always better to be in the room for callbacks. But if you are unavailable for callbacks we will still consider your audition. Please inform the staff at the time of auditions of your conflicts.
Stage will notify all auditioners by email within 2 - 3 weeks after the audition.
