2023: WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
Happy New Year!
Thank you for welcoming me to my new role as Artistic Director of Cabrillo Stage! I’m ecstatic to join this community that shares my passion for theatre and the work we hope to do. I ask for your support to help us create a spectacular production this summer.
It’s no secret the last few years have been a time of immense upheaval for theatres. Audiences have been hesitant to return and the work needed to ensure healthy and equitable production practices is ongoing. All of us have been asked to take an honest look at how we care for others in our community. At Cabrillo Stage, we believe in the healing power of theatre and are more energized than ever to make our summer festival a home that artists and audiences eagerly return to year after year.
This summer we will focus on one production that speaks to the healing and uplifting power of community. The Hunchback of Notre Dame, (music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell) features a full choir onstage underscoring the timeless story of finding allies in unexpected places when we look past differences to embrace each other’s humanity. I can think of no better production to speak to this moment in our history. Your donation makes this story possible.
With much gratitude,
Andrea L. Hart, Artistic Director
